Pressed collar
The pressed collar (Type 37 to EN 1092-1) is a formed short collar butt-welded to the pipe and used with a Type 02 loose flange. The loose flange remains rotatable on the pipe, allowing the bolt holes to be aligned easily during installation and maintenance. The media-wetted collar can therefore be made from a corrosion-resistant material, while the backing flange does not necessarily require the same grade. Type 37 is particularly suitable for piping with moderate pressure and temperature loads; material, gasket, pressure rating and permissible service limits must always be assessed as a complete system.
