Threaded flange

A hubbed threaded flange (Type 13 to EN 1092-1) has an internal thread in the hub and is screwed onto a pipe with a matching external thread without welding. This detachable connection simplifies installation and replacement where on-site welding is prohibited or uneconomical. Typical applications include utility, auxiliary and instrumentation piping under moderate operating conditions. Welded flange types are generally more suitable for severe vibration, cyclic loads, or high pressure and temperature. The thread, material grade and pressure rating must suit the process medium and temperature. The flange gasket seats on the standard-compliant flange facing; the pipe thread requires separate sealing.

Available materials

We supply threaded flanges to EN 1092-1 Type 13 and DIN in suitable pressure ratings and nominal sizes. ASME versions must be specified as Threaded Flanges to ASME B16.5; PN and Class ratings are not interchangeable. Our product range includes carbon steel, stainless steel and special alloys. Custom flanges manufactured to drawing are also available on request.
